LIGHT: Bright light levels
TEMPERATURE: 45°- 55°F nights, 65°- 75°F days in winter. MUST
maintain 55° - 75°F while in bud, summer high temperatures
should not be above 85°F
HUMIDITY: 40% - 50% RH
WATERING: Water regularly when in active growth – medium
should remain moist. In dormant periods allow to dry out
completely.
FERTILIZING: Use high nitrogen fertilizer from spring through
summer, and high phosphorus fertilizer in late summer to help
produce buds. Use full-strength fertilizer every 2 weeks when in
growth and once a month in winter.
REPOTTING: Repot every two years with a mix of fir bark and
peat – a moisture retaining mix.
OTHER: This species like bright lights but high temperatures
prevent them from blooming – they need cool conditions
